Here at the sprawling Vimeo office park, we have an end-of-the-year tradition. As we draw near the final page of our LOLCats LOL-A-Day calendar, we always take a few moments to stand in front of a large mirror and say to ourselves, somewhat accusatorily, “So, what did you accomplish this year?”While we’re reluctant to blow our own trumpets, we will shyly admit that we accomplished kind of sort of a lot in 2011. Head to the Vimeo Staff Blog for our Deep Reflections and Personal Horn-Tooting for 2011!

WHAT A YEAR! Seriously proud of our team and our massively growing community. Here’s to 2012 and the last year of the rest of our lives.

I miss you too. Howard’s Club H has definitely changed over the years. Seems like the BG has scene has fizzled out since my days, but at least the bathroom walls haven’t changed. So much history on those walls. Hopefully it will inspire new students to pick-up the reigns and become the next Evolloto, Stylex, Sledge, Crazy Eddy or Lethargic ID.

Nice to be back in Bowling Green. Wish I actually ate at the Corner Grill last night, but all I did was shoot this lousy photo.

Hard Packs: I

These have been gathering dust on my computer since last November. I intended to post these to the new website that I was working on for myself, but who knows when that thing is going to go live.

I call these the Hard Park series. What started it off was reading this article about Camel Cigarettes creating a pack of cigarettes that were branded for Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

One, I found it bazaar that Camel would brand a pack a cigarettes for a location, and one that I live in. And two, I didn’t feel like the design had any of the elements that would make it feel very Williamsburg, so I decided to design my own version of the pack. Once I finished this one, I decided to play around with a few other pack designs to see what I could come up with. (Soon to follow…)

The pattern for this design is by Tim Denger and I thank him for letting me use it. Check out more of Tim’s inspiring work here: http://www.prettydept.com/

The word “excited” doesn’t do justice to our emotions right now. We’re thrilled, pumped, tickled 2,012 shades of pink, and jazzed to the max to announce that the Vimeo Festival + Awards are back! In fact, submissions are now open, so it’s time to throw humility to the wind and show off the amazing masterpieces you’ve been slaving over. We want to see them!

This year we’ve got extraordinary new judges, spectacular new categories, and even more massive prizes — $5,000 for category winners and one $25,000 grand prize. Read more and show us your best stuff!
